Greetings from the Kitchen
Fall has arrived, the leaves are falling, and soon the snow will be flying. With the changing seasons, some changes come to the care center. The new fall menu comes out October 20th. There will be many new and yummy items.
Wednesday, October 16th is take you parent/s to supper day and our annual Fall Family Gathering. All families are welcome to join us for this grill out free of charge! Bring a dish to pass if you'd like. Please RSVP to reserve your spot by calling 563-245-1620 by October 8th.
October is also homemade cookie month! Here is a butterfinger cookie recipe to try!
Ingredients:
¾ c. butter at room temperature
1 c. sugar
1 egg plus 2 yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. salt
¾ tsp. baking soda
2 ¼ c. flour
2 c. chopped Butterfingers
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix together butter & sugar
Add egg and yolks, vanilla, baking soda & salt. Mix till combined.
Add flour, mix until combined.
Stir in Butterfingers
Drop 2 TBLS dough onto baking sheet.
Bake 8 – 9 minutes until edges are lightly golden
Cool and enjoy!
