National Skilled Nursing Care Week

National Skilled Nursing Home Week is an annual event. This event always begins on Mother's Day and is celebrated all week long! This event is designed for all of the residents, families and staff to celebrate our facility! There is always a theme that American Health Care Association designs, and we try to plan our weekly events around the theme. This year the them was, "Celebrating Life's Stories".

We had a great time celebrating our life's stories here at Elkader Care Center! We started the celebration with a special Mother's Day lunch, which was delicious! We also had some of our resident's favorite foods! The most popular was the home made fried chicken!

We rounded out the week with a "drive -in" movie. We watched, "Singing in the Rain" and had a Sundae bar to go along with it! Some of our residents, tenants and staff brought in their wedding pictures to display as well as 4 wedding dresses to display. These were worn in the weddings of our tenant, their mother and some of the staff!

We had a car show in our parking lot, and ended the week with a Memorial Balloon Release! Fun was had by all. We look forward to next years Nursing Care Week!
